SUNDESH is the result of Dr S K Burman’s vision to reach out and empower the weaker & vulnerable sections of the society in India.

Established in 1994, the Social Development Society (SUNDESH) has been working quietly and tirelessly to make economically marginalised communities self-reliant. The foundation works towards the holistic development of weaker sections of urban and rural areas through Integrated Community Development Programmes.

Indira Burman

Indira Burman is a philanthropist and social worker working in the areas of healthcare, women empowerment, and primary & secondary education. Over her years of Community service, she has worked to uplift India’s economically underprivileged societies.

Some of her initiatives include setting up Som Dutt Clinics in Shakarpur, New Delhi, rehabilitation of Sundarbans Mangroves and promoting menstrual hygiene among women in rural India.
